Ovtene wrap is primarily composed of calcium carbonate, and other trace minerals. Ovtene is manufactured without water, uses 55% less plastic resin than competitive plastic packaging, and is 100% recyclable.
Thanks to a unique physical structure, Ovtene is resistant to liquids and permeable to gases. This creates an ideal microclimate against the proliferation of molds and other agents that deteriorate fresh food products, sometimes doubling and tripling the life cheese, fruits, vegetables and breads.

We make cultured butter from our jersey cow's milk and tried many ways to package and wrap it that were less than successful. We tried the ovtene because I had it out to wrap a cheese. Ovtene is absolutely the best thing to wrap homemade butter. It keeps it fresh, beautifully textured, and ready to use.

I love this cheese wrap! We use it for both our camembert-style and our chevre-style bloomy rinds. I've not mastered the origami of folding square or rectangular paper over a round wheel. But this wrap still looks great when we put the label on top. This wrap allows the cheese to "breathe", does not accumulate moisture & does not allow the cheese to dry out.
