Petite but powerful!

As a child, I remember taking all of the cream from 1 gallon of milk (pasteurized but not homogenized) and shaking it in a mason jar. All of us kids took turns as we wore out pretty quickly. This little churn made making butter so easy!! Love it.

Butter Churn

The churn seems well made of durable materials. So far we've used it once, I enlisted a granddaughter to do some of the turning at the end, but we turned out some very nice butter. Next time i will make sure to start with cooler cream so it's not quite so soft when I rinse it.

Kilner Butter Churn

We recently purchased this churn, and have used it several times with great success. Smaller batches at times are easier to work with. Would recommend this product to others.

Fun and Rewarding

There is a moment when the whipped cream suddenly decides to separate into butter and buttermilk. It is kind of magical. My son and I took turns churning and the reward was well worth the effort! While you can make butter without a churner--we tried it with the stand-mixer and made a mess--this is a fun way to get young kids involved in making something that can be otherwise taken for granted and clean-up is super easy. It also helps to connect them to the effort (and path) that their food takes to the table. Added bonus is incorporating in honey or garlic/chives... This is a great device to open up discussions about food and where it comes from. (Noting that it was well made. Worked well despite the sudden strain of an elementary student's best efforts.)

So excited but disappointed

My children were so excited with this purchase! They love helping me in the kitchen and this new skill of making butter would add to their growing list. I purposely purchased the butter churn from a professional company thinking over Amazon. My thought was better equipment and supporting an American company. I was SO DISAPPOINTED after opening the box and reading MADE IN CHINA. I would return it but my children are so excited to start using it. Please support American made products! With a company named New England - I thought I was supporting American Made. You should label it MADE IN CHINA so others know who they are supporting and who you are supporting. It makes me wonder about your other equipment? All from China? So very disappointed!
