Our press plans will help you make your own lever-style press. You will be able to accurately measure your pressure and use any type and size of mold. With a little time and some simple woodworking, you will have a very convenient and easy to use cheese press.

Note: If you are unable to locate the metal bracket specified in the plans, our tech guy, Jim, recommends using a butt hinge with pin, mounted horizontal on the wall. You will be able to pull the pin to remove the weight bearing lever arm for storage.

Easy Peasy!

I'm so pleased with my press! I don't have a wall that would work, so I really appreciate other posters' photos and descriptions for making a free- standing unit. The base board is 3/4" oak. I noticed it began to flex/pull upward when I exceeded 100 pounds. It was still functional when I stopped "callibrating" at 144 pounds. I believe a thicker base will cure the flexing problem if I find myself needing higher pressing weights. I found wall brackets among the hardware store's online listings, but the hinge was available in-store and appears to be a perfectly adequate substitute. Thank you for providing these plans for an affordable price. Oh, and here's a photo of my first hard cheese, a 2-pound colby.

Detailed plan

Very detailed plan, it even includes what type of wood to use on whcih section. I built one on my own by using simple instruments that you can find in any supermaket and it turned out to be solid press. I recommend it

Off the wall cheese press

I haven't built it yet but the instructions look pretty simple. I'm sure it will be easier than stacking things and having them fall.

Great plans

We just received these plans for the cheese press and we're impressed by the details included in the plans. I am so glad that I can use ordinary supplies to press cheese, and I don't have to buy any specialty equipment.

I'm glad my husbands an architect

This plan needs to be a little more fleshed out. It really needs a materials list. I would have paid double for this plan if it included the wall bracket. I am truly thankful for the images from other reviews.
