This stuff is the real deal, if you want a nice even and tight weave cheese cloth this butter muslin is what you want. I use it for cheese but also for making thicker tomato sauce without all the cook down time.
I used it to drain my curd, worked perfectly. I like the fact that it is easy washable and reusable.
Made my first two wheels using this muslin- worked great and was easy to keep wrinkle free.
I had used a smaller size of butter muslin but this was a much better fit. No spilling over and fumbling.
I've always used regular cheese cloth bought in the fabric section of the local store. This is my first experience with this Butter Muslin. I made a Farmstead Cheese that required a heavy press. The cheese drained much better than the cheese cloth, and it was much easier to arrange it in the press so as to come out nice and smooth. It actually achieved a finish that I've only realized before by doing a final press with no cloth.
