Curd Knife 14"
This curd knife is essential in the cheese making process. With a long 14" blade it is easy to evenly cut curds, so whey can expel. Having no sharp edges, this curd knife is also a great option when making cheese with kids.
- 14" Stainless steel blade
Should be boiled, to sterilize, before each use.
After use, wash in hot soapy water and allow to dry.

I have been using a long, dull vintage carving knife to cut curds for years. Decided to buy this curd knife finally. What a difference! Works beautifully and reaches the bottom of a deep pot!
This curd knife is just what I was looking for. It does the trick for large batch cheese making. I was needing a large curd knife and I’m pleased that this cuts clean, deep, perfect.
I love my curd knife. It makes cutting cheese curds so much easier. It teaches the bottom of the pot and actually slices uniformity and throughly.
This curd knife is quite huge -- the blade part is 14 inches, so the total length is roughly 18.5 inches including the handle. The blade is also quite wide (I forgot to measure but it seems roughly 1.5 inches.) Although I was initially overwhelmed with the size, in fact you need this size if you are working with 3 or 4 or more gallons per batch of cheese. It's also sturdy enough that I can use it to mix the curd mixture to a certain extent. Here is a photo of the knife on top of a 4 gal. pot (pot is roughly 12.5 inches wide without handles--to give you an idea). At first, I wondered where I could store it, but in fact it's so flat that I could easily store away on a long cabinet shelf! Overall a useful tool at a good price. I used it once already, and it worked great. I look forward to using it soon for a 4 gal batch of gruyere.
When I started making cheese I thought a long kitchen knife would work to cut curds as well as s curd knife. I was wrong. I purchased this curd knife recently and it cuts curds beautifully.
