Home cheesemaking book review
I purchased this book to try and start making cheese. I have not had a chance to make any yet, but the book is very interesting. It will probably be in the spring before I get to try anything out.
Cheese for dayz
Absolutely loving my “Home Cheese Making “book. I’m a new cheese maker and have really enjoyed learning this new art. The book explains everything very well and even has food recipes and a cheese troubleshooting section, which is handy.
The "Bible" of Cheese
Husband's new hobby - this book is already annotated, highlighted, dog-eared, marked up and stained. Thanks for a great all-in-one reference!
This book has some very good recipes and ideas for cheesemaking and other foodie enjoyables. However, on page 62 of the recent edition there is a need for clarification. The recipe for Lactic cheese states to use 3 drops of rennet in 1/3 cup of cool water. In the instructions it states Add 1 teaspoon of rennet. Three drops is not necessarily 1 teaspoon, so which is it?? Can't make these things without clear and consistent information. Hope the other recipes are more defined. That should be 3.5 stars but I can't do a half!!
