This organic liquid vegetarian rennet is a double strength plus microbial "vegetable" rennet. All ingredients conform to organic standards, are gluten free and NON-GMO. Liquid rennet is easy to measure and add to milk, which makes it a favorite for both beginner and advanced cheese makers alike.

1/4 teaspoon will set 2 gallons of milk in approximately 45 minutes
- 1 oz | approximately 6 tsp | sets up to 48 gallons of milk
- 2 oz | approximately 12 tsp | sets up to 96 gallons of milk
- 1 pint | approximately 96 tsp | sets up to 768 gallons of milk
- 1 quart | approximately 192 tsp | sets up to 1536 gallons of milk
- 1 gallon | approximately 768 tsp | sets up to 6144 gallons of milk

This rennet is double strength plus, we suggest using 1/3 the amount recipes call for.
Mix required amount of rennet in about 1/4 cup cool, non-chlorinated water. Immediately add diluted rennet to milk, gently stir for 1 minute, to evenly distribute.
Note: The amount will vary on the condition of your milk, season and type of cheese you are making.

I’ve been making cheese since summer 2021, and use vegetarian rennet on all my cheeses. It works really well with raw milk, however I’ve had good results with store brought milk as well, just need to remember adjust accordingly. I buy all my cheese supplies from NECM, and I love the quality of products and excellent customer service. Thank you!

I have long wanted to start making cheese. I even started buying supplies a few years back but have never did anything with it. But, when I saw the price of mozzarella at the grocery store recently, I decided now was the time to do my own. Although I had purchased vegetable rennet tablets in the past, most recipes called for liquid rennet and, being new to cheese-making, I was unsure about substituting tablets for liquid and the results it might yield. I noticed a comment on your website about how the consumer had predictable and good outcomes with the liquid vegetable rennet and I decided to purchase it. Like the other commenter, the liquid vegetable rennet produced a nice curd, my cheese was a success, and I will definitely be using it again!
