Description

These vegetable rennet tablets contain no animal products, are gluten free and NON-GMO. Each tablet is scored into 4 segments, making it easy to break into smaller amounts for home cheese making.

  • Microbial coagulant (mucor pussillus and/or mucor miehei)
  • Megnesium stearate
  • Microcrystaline cellulose

Storage
Store in the freezer for up to 3 years

Yield
1/2 tablet will set 2 gallons of milk in approximately 45 minutes

Directions

Crush desired portion of rennet tablet. After crushing, mix rennet, till dissolved, in about 1/4 cup cool, non-chlorinated water. Immediately add diluted rennet to milk, gently stir for 1 minute, to evenly distribute.

Once mixed, the rennet solution can not be stored for later use.

Note: The amount will vary on the condition of your milk, season and type of cheese you are making.

Better than animal rennet for me

I originally used liquid animal rennet, but all my cheeses came out bitter (maybe I was using too much for the milk I use). Switched over to these veggie rennet tablets and they work perfectly without the bitterness. I've never had a batch fail to coagulate. Great product!

Trust it to work every single pot of milk

I have been using this item for years. And it stays in the freezer for a very long time. When I teach my friends to make cheese, I give them one. That's giving them four pots of milk that will become cheese. Easy to break apart, easy to crush, easy to dissolve in water. Easy Peasy--we're on to making cheesy!

Rennett tablets

The tablets worked well, but quartering one tablet was a little clumsy. The resultant cheese, mozzarella, was okay though, especially for my first attempt.
