It’s been 6 years since the Cheese Queen first heard about a program for veterans called the Compensated Work Therapy Workshop. She contacted the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare Center in Leeds and with the help of one of their vocational counselors, Tom Haskell, she transferred some of our assembly work to the program.

Through the years, we have gotten to know many of our team. We have had them come to our shop in South Deerfield and we have visited their work space in Leeds. This fall, we took them gift bags to honor and thank them for their work for us and their service to our country. (We have done this in previous years and each of us on the staff contributes something to the bags.)

We assembled the bags at our shop where April had too much fun, as usual!

We carried the bags into the building.

Kathy thanked the veterans for their service to our country. It was an emotional moment for her and for all of us.
