A tidbit is a little piece of something BIG and that something is the big, big world of cheese. We know you’re kinda busy making your own “fabulous fromage,” so, every month (on the 15th), we scour the Web for you, picking out new items of interest and giving you the links. If we missed something, let us know at info@cheesemaking.com or in the comments below.
Very Cute Video: Amberlin Biegel has done it again on the Biegel Family Channel – a video showing how you can make cheese over a campfire and then press it between 2 rocks (if you are bored!). (click here)
Super Bowl Appetizer: This is super easy! Ham, cheddar cheese, cream cheese ball rolled in pecans from Taste of Home. (click here)
Best in UK: This cheddar (Little Black Bomber), made in northwest Wales has won many awards, including The Guild of Fine Food’s Best Brands survey 3 times which is voted on by food delis and shops in the UK. You can purchase it on Amazon. (click here)
YouTube Video of the Month: We love this 2 part video about the making of sheep’s milk cheese at LoveTree Farm in Wisconsin. The first part is particularly good for understanding why we salt the rinds and the second part explains why mold on the cheese in the aging cave is a “miniature flower garden.” (click here)
New Product: Have you tried Parmesan Cheese Extract yet? They say it’s great when added to melted butter for popcorn. We haven’t tried it, so let us know! (click here)
See you next month and happy cheese making!
