Two years ago, Ricki started working on an old shed in the back of her yard which, at one time, had been a barn for her goats. One thing led to another, and, over time, this barn has become more and more beautiful. It’s nowhere near done, but we thought you might like to see the progress. (For last year’s article- click here.)
The barn now, in May, before the gardens bloom
Just to clarify, the barn is located way back in the yard. This is a picture of the house from there:
The gluing process
Ricki is gluing pieces of broken mirror to the walls on one side of the room:
First she applies hot glue to the mirror. (This is only for the very low pieces-the others are attached with mirror adhesive)
Sometimes she fills the gaps with sea glass
The results so far
This is not a great picture, but you can see the mirror on the top section of the wall
A close-up of part of the mirrored wall
The lower section where Ricki is working now
This post is covered entirely with beads and little pieces of jewelry
This is another post (in progress)
And another … these posts take a few minutes to do!
