Virtual, Interactive Cheese Classes
We have known Kate Johnson, the owner of The Art of Cheese in Longmont, Colorado for many years. In the last 5 years, she has taught classes at her school, online, and at her own winter retreats in Hawaii. Recently, she published her new book – Tiny Goat, Big Cheese.
Kate is the proverbial “ball of energy” and now, during the pandemic when many of us are isolating in our homes, Kate is holding cheesemaking classes on Zoom (a free platform for video conferencing). Anyone with a computer can register for these classes and the next one will be June 22-28. (Her first one, April 13-19th had over 100 participants!) What Students are Saying:
I came into these classes as a complete cheese novice and now can proudly call myself a “cheese maker!” Kate’s recipes, videos, and wealth of knowledge have given me the confidence to make cheese for the first time on my own. It’s also reassuring to know that I can refer back to the recorded videos or send her questions via email if I find myself in trouble along the “whey!” ~ Tiffany in Alabama
What a wonderful class! The recipe and video were easy to follow, Kate was very relatable, and it took cheesemaking from intimidating to doable! I look forward to participating in more classes in the future. ~ Laura in Estes Park, CO
The classes were clearly explained and very helpful! I thoroughly enjoyed them and look forward to using all my new knowledge. I highly recommend taking these classes! ~ Justin in Arvada, CO
I really enjoyed this series of classes. It was easy to follow and I felt confident I could make the cheeses and have success – and I did have success. My family loved each of the cheeses. The presentations were well planned and were focused on the home cheese maker. I highly recommend. ~ Nancy in Houston TX
Kate’s online cheesemaking classes are lively, fun, and informative. She will inspire you in the art of crafting your own artisan cheese, as well as teach you the science behind successful cheesemaking. I highly recommend this class! ~ Kathy in Denver, CO
